I have been working as decorator for over 10 years and I set up Matthew Barber Painting & Decorating 9 years ago. I aim to achieve the highest standards using quality materials and giving attention to detail.

Preparation
In order to achieve high quality end results it is essential to use high quality preparation materials and paints when carrying out any decorating work.

Thorough and correct preparation is also important. To help in this I carry several dustless sanders from Mirka and Festool. These sanders allows for thorough preparation while creating minimal dust. A healthier, cleaner and more efficient way to prepare surfaces ready for decorating.

Quality Tools & Materials
In order to achieve high quality end results it is essential to use high quality preparation materials and paints when carrying out any decorating work.

I can supply and use modern, high quality water based paints and finishing products from reputable manufacturers. These products are environmentally friendly, low odour and without the VOCs in many of the more traditional products. Good quality paint brands use higher quality ingredients than other brands and as a result supply products that not only look good but don’t compromise on durability.

As a professional decorator I can often supply these products at trade prices.

Approved Repair Care Contractor

As an approved Repair Care Contractor Matthew Barber Painting and Decorating can offer repairs using Repair Care flexible resins. The Repair Care system is well suited to period properties and where sections of doors and windows are badly rotted out and would otherwise need replacing. Repair Care can also be used to make repair to a wider variety of surfaces. Repair Care resins can be a genuine alternative to costly replacement.
